After the passing of Imam Ja'far Al Sadiq (a.s) the Shias prospered under the leadership of the seventh Imam, Imam Musa Al Kadhim (a.s). He was known for his knowledge, generosity and acts of worship. Historians are in agreement that the Abbaside ruler Haroon Al Rashid imprisoned him for several years and he was murdered during this incarceration period.
Figures like Haroon should be subject to condemnation, yet the great 'Sunni Ulema' rather than deem him to be a deviant or disbeliever instead testified to his greatness showering him with accolades such as commander of the faithful.
