Russia once again warns the United States against any new unfriendly steps, saying it would act decisively against such a move.
Russian media said the warning was issued by President Vladimir Putins foreign policy adviser. Yuri Ushakov also invited the US ambassador to Moscow for talks following Tuesdays phone call between Putin and his US counterpart, Joe Biden. This follows reports that the White House is preparing new restrictions against the Kremlin. Russia says it must be ready for the worst-case scenario in terms of US sanctions and has threatened to respond to any new restrictions in kind. Tensions have increased between the two sides over a number of issues, including the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the jailing of Kremlin critic, Alexey Navalny.
