Habib Chaab Indicted on Terrorism Charges The Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutors office issued indictments against Habib Chaab a.k.a. Habib Asyud, leader of the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz (ASMLA) terrorist group. As part of the indictment, he has been charged with the leadership of the ASMLA, planning and perpetrating bombings and terrorist attacks in Khuzestan province and acts of sabotage to confront the Islamic Republic of Iran. He had been also indicted on bombing of the buildings of the Housing and Urban Development Organization of Ahwaz, the Planning and Budget Organization, the Khuzestan Province Natural Resources General Administration, the Governors buildings in the cities of Dezful and Abadan, and exploding oil pipelines of Abadan, Ahwaz, and Mahshahr, and planning for the bombing of Ahwaz Judiciary building. The ASMLA, founded in 1994, is one of the Arab separatist groups which has claimed the lives of innocent Arab people and disrupted the peace in the southwestern Khuzestan province under the banner of helping the Arab people. The terrorist group conducted around 25 terrorist operations in Khuzestan province ranging from bombings to assassinations from June 2005 to February 2006. The armed wing of the ASMLA known as Mohiuddin al-Nasser Martyrs Brigade carried out bombings in public places and exploded oil and gas pipelines in the dead of the night, leaving tens of civilians dead and many others injured.
